Notre Dame de Vie (Our Lady of Life) is a spiritual family approved by Rome and founded by Fr Marie-Eugene of the Child Jesus and Marie Pila, a laywoman .
The community started in 1932 at the ancient shrine of Notre Dame de Vie (Venasque, France) where Our Lady has been honoured since the 6th century.
The vision of its founders was to form contemplative apostles who would bring God's love to all.
Members of Notre Dame de Vie - consecrated lay women, men and priests (mostly diocesan) - take the 3 vows of poverty, chastity and obedience. They combine consecration with professional life or priestly ministry, putting daily contemplative prayer and the Eucharist at the heart of their life. They strive to bear witness to the Living God and to the primacy of the spiritual in the world.
Associates and families share in the same spirituality.
Notre Dame de Vie is represented in 20 countries across 4 continents.
